Personally, I love this style. European elegance and rustic comfort mix in perfect harmony with old- world charm to create this inviting style. French country design typically incorporates distressed woodwork, ruffles, mixed patterns, and both vibrant and subdued hues.
Incorporate toile into your design. From your throw pillows to your headboard, and anything in between, this fabric is sure to give you that French look.
Add some distressed wood to your design. Distressed wood instantly gives your space a rustic allure. To expertly achieve the French country style, furniture with a whitewashed finish is a must. Incorporate a whitewashed antique chair for interest or make a statement with a farmhouse style entry way table. Add a toile patterned throw pillow to your chair and some white distressed windows (hello flea market) to your entry way table for a completed look.
Mix elegance and comfort- the French country way. If you scroll through images of the French countryside, you’ll see the ironwork of their gates are both intricate and sophisticated. Bring this look into your own home by adding a decorative wrought- iron piece of furniture then add pillows and throws for a cozy feel.
Finish your look by adding soft details to the space. Soft patterns, lace details, and decorative trims are great finishing touches to tie the space together. Your French country home will instantly become your calming oasis from the busyness of everyday life.
